Pacific Travel Tours
Privacy and personal data
This page explains how information relating to your browsing and enquiries to Pacific Travel Tours is processed.
Who is responsible for your data?
MAHATEA SARL, trading as Pacific Travel Tours, is the controller for the processing of your enquiries. Its registered office is at 10 rue Charles Perrault, 98835 Dumbéa, New Caledonia. For any questions about your data, write to contact@pacifictraveltours.com.
The information requested
The form collects your name and email address, which are necessary to receive your enquiry and reply to you. The message is optional. The form cannot be submitted without the required fields. You can also contact us directly by email.
Exchanges may contain information you choose to share about your travel project. Please avoid sending identity documents, bank details or health information through this initial form.
Technical information, including your IP address, browser characteristics and connection events, may be processed to operate and secure the website.
Why, and on what basis?
We use the information in your enquiry to reply to you and prepare your travel project. When someone requests a quotation for their own trip, this processing enables us to take the pre-contractual steps they request. For general questions and professional exchanges, it serves our legitimate interest in managing enquiries and professional relationships.
Protection against abuse and automated submissions serves our legitimate interest in ensuring the security and availability of the service. Sending an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to a marketing list.
Who can access it?
Enquiries are received by the Pacific Travel Tours team and its management according to their processing needs. Technical providers required for the website, email reception, backups and protection against bots are also involved: OVH for website hosting and Google for email reception and the reCAPTCHA service.
If your project becomes a booking, the information needed to organise it forms part of the customer file and involves the providers concerned with your trip.
Retention
For information or quotation requests that do not result in a booking, the retention rule adopted is 12 months after the last useful exchange with the enquirer. An active file, a dispute or an applicable obligation may justify separate retention, limited to the necessary information.
Files that become customer records and accounting or contractual documents follow the retention periods needed to perform the trip and meet applicable obligations. The 12-month rule is not a single retention period for these documents.
Technical logs are retained according to operational, security and incident-handling needs and applicable obligations. Technical website backups are renewed through a rotation of daily and weekly recovery points; they are separate from email mailboxes.
Protection against bots and cookies
The form uses Google reCAPTCHA to limit automated enquiries. The service analyses technical information and receives your IP address during verification. It may store the _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis; loading from Google's domain may also involve other cookies from that domain.
If this verification prevents you from submitting your enquiry, email contact@pacifictraveltours.com directly. Blocking cookies in your browser may affect some functions, including this protection.
Technical services and international processing
Using technical services may entail processing outside New Caledonia and, for Google services, in countries where Google or its subprocessors have facilities. Location and transfer rules depend on the service and applicable contractual commitments. You can request details of the recipients and safeguards applicable to your data at contact@pacifictraveltours.com.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in applicable legislation, you may request access to, rectification or erasure of your data, or restriction of its processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation, and request portability where this right applies.
Send your request to contact@pacifictraveltours.com, specifying its purpose. If there is reasonable doubt about your identity, we may request only the information necessary to verify it. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
The applicable framework includes the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés) in the version applicable in New Caledonia and the data protection rules to which it refers.
